Storage Pricing.

What object storage really costs across AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI and OVHcloud — not just the per-GB headline, but the asterisks nobody charts neutrally: retrieval fees, minimum-duration penalties, restore latency, egress and request charges. Every cell sourced from the vendor's own pricing page.

The cheapest per-GB tier is rarely the cheapest bill. Cold and archive tiers trade their low storage price for a retrieval fee, a minimum-duration penalty (delete early and you pay the rest anyway), and a restore wait measured in hours. The numbers below are list prices in USD for a representative US region (S3 N. Virginia, Azure East US, GCS us-central1; OCI and OVH price uniformly; OVH is shown in USD from its US price page, EU customers are billed in EUR). GCS and OVHcloud publish per-GiB rates (binary, 230); shown here converted to per-GB to align the column — a ~7% basis difference the headline price hides. The marks score what actually helps or bites: instant access vs a mandatory restore, and free vs billed egress and requests. Storage prices and durations stay descriptive (≈) — a fact, not a virtue. Region, redundancy (LRS vs multi-region) and volume tiers move every number; read the cell's source before you commit one to a slide.
