Self-hosted open-source stacks compared across
signal coverage, OpenTelemetry, Kubernetes integration,
multi-tenancy, and licensing. The third buying decision
after the cloud-native bundle and the managed platform.

Reading the "stack" column. Most rows compare a component within a wider deployment — Loki is the logs component of the Grafana stack, Elasticsearch is the storage tier of ELK, etc. A ✓ means the stack covers that signal natively; ◐ means it covers it via a peripheral or with caveats; ✗ means you would pair the stack with something else for that signal. The licence and storage rows describe the open-source distribution; commercial editions may differ. The companion Observability Matrix covers the cloud-native and managed-platform options.
